CPH Summer 2007

Once again Unfair invites you to an alternative experience during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Unfair presents a creative showroom driven by a passion for diversity, innovation and the unexpected by uniting the different worlds of music, art, fashion and film.

In collaboration with smaller progressive labels, upcoming designers, musicians, artists and film makers Unfair delivers a serious alternative to the other fairs and tradeshows in Copenhagen. Unfair offers a nuanced, versatile and fresh look on fashion as it is unfolding right now - in both Denmark and abroad.

Fashion:
Copenhagen Unfair presents fashion as it is being developed on the streets right now. A mixture of small progressive brands ranging form high end fashion to street wear will make out the selection of exhibitors at this years fair.
Come see brands who dares and are not afraid to do it, brands where quality comes before quantity, where new ideas and initiatives rule. Copenhagen Unfair is the door to a world of unspoiled creativity, where shape, ornamentation and expression is at the centre of attention.

More than fashion: Paintings, Installations and Photography.
This year Unfair will create a visual explosion of photos, paintings, installation art and happenings.
We are proud to present two of the country’s finest photographers, Christian Vium Andersen and Steven Freiheit. Christian Vium who have won Paris-Match (parismatch.com) will show his spot-on rendition of a poverty striken South Africa. Steven Freiheit, author of the book Related and Pakistan documentarist, will sooth your eyes in both the art gallery and the Unfair Cinema, where he amongst other things will show his video to a tune mixed by DJ JSL from party bangers OHOI (ohoi.dk) who – by the way – will be behind the turntables at Unfair as well.

More than fashion: Music.
No clothes without music. This year Unfair puts an even bigger emphasis on music and presents some of the most exiting (and loving) sound collectives in Denmark. Every day is a new sound on Unfair, when our secluded backyard mixes beats with good food, plenty to drink and a possibility to shop around for clothes and art.
Unfair proudly presents an impressive mix of different musical experiences, when the Danish electronical festival Public Service meets hyper-productive Rump Recordings (Bjørn Svin, Badun, Rumpistol, etc) and Lækker Lytter, the most loving sound system there ever was – Stella Polaris always guaranty a more than usual laid back atmosphere where even the stiffest spinal column has to bent – Dancehall.dk momentarily moves the Caribbean to Sydhavn and makes the sun shine, even when it rains – The multi-everything collective Artrebels with some of the most prominent Djs in Denmark (T.O.M., Sensemilla, etc) who always have a surprise up their sleeve.

More than fashion: Film.
Unfair Cinema is the film oasis where you can lean back and enjoy while watching some of this year’s best and most innovative Danish directors in music and documentary.
This year including Martin De Thurah who has received international recognition after he won the prestigious award as ‘Best New Director’ at the Cads Awards 2006 in London. René Johanssen, one of Danish Hip Hop’s most wanted directors, who has worked with L.O.C, Troo.l.s & Orgi-e (‘Inden det for sent’ won best Danish Hip Hop Video in 2005), Clemens, Suspekt and Rent Mel. Additionally Unfair Cinema presents creative makings by Artrebels, Dancehall.dk, Steven Freiheit and a sneak preview of this year’s EIUC first prize-winning documentary about the South African township ‘Manenberg’ by Christian Vium.
